STRAIN PROFILE Magnum Autoflower
Magnum Autoflower Profile by Kyle Kushman
Some people have a hard time starting a conversation in a social gathering. All that changes with Magnum with its chatty, long-lasting high. Besides getting ahold of its flowers, introverts wishing to get off their shell can also opt to cultivate the plant. Not only are its seeds feminized, but they are also auto-flowering at Homegrown Cannabis.
On its genetics, it is not because the information was lost in obscurity. Instead, the original breeder had chosen to keep it proprietary. Some people, though, suspect that one of its parents could be Jack Herer or Haze. Regardless, it is a three-way split of Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis.
The name of the strain is reminiscent of the mighty Magnum 44 Dirty Harry carries. In more ways than one, it is apt as it is one of the most potent autos in the world. Rather than a blitzing onset, though, it is unique in that its cerebral effects build up gradually over time before settling into a relaxing bliss.
Growing Magnum from Autoflowering Seeds
One problem some people may have on auto-flowers is that the buds are underwhelming. At least, that was the case in the old days when often, the earlier generations do lack flavors and potency. Today that is becoming less of a concern. In fact, many people agree that Magnum is the most productive and potent of all autos to date.
Cultivating it should not be any more difficult than necessary for two reasons. One is that it is resistant to pests and fungi. Another is that it is also in feminized seeds. That means that the chances of growing males are meager. Not only that, even when subjected to a little stress, these ladies do not have hermaphroditic tendencies.
For the most part, growing it indoors only require a 20/4 light cycle. Be aware that it can grow up to 150cm. As such, it does need a large pot. After a flowering period of 10 to 12 weeks under 600w, each square meter can produce as much as 500 grams of nugs.
In the outdoors, the plant can quickly grow up to 1.5m. From seeds to bud, it takes an average of 75 to 90 days. During harvest, each plant can produce around 200 grams.
Fragrance and Flavor
Magnum emits a fresh and pungent scent. It has a spicy flavor with a hint of sweet citrusy notes to balance it out.
Magnum is a pretty potent strain that has a decent THC level hovering around 12-15%. Its slow-building buzz that intensifies over time is one of its unique qualities. As soon as the euphoric high settles in, not only does it leave users feeling uplifted but they are also more sociable. Used with a group of people, expect non-stop talking with a lot of laughter. As such, it is an ideal strain for introverts who need a little something to help them get out of their shells.
Similar to Haze, Magnum can reinvigorate users. The clear-headed high it induces coupled with a boost in energy allows one to remain productive. For artists, the heightened level of creativity is a welcome boost too.
In time, the physical effects of Magnum will creep into the body. It blends seamlessly with the cerebral high and is not likely to cause one to feel lazy. Instead, it keeps users feel calm and relaxed without going overboard on the cerebral high.
The recreational effects of Magnum have side benefits for medical users. In particular, the mood-enhancing abilities of this strain can melt away stress. It is also going to be difficult for people with depression to remain in a foul mood once they succumb to the euphoric high.
To a certain extent, Magnum can also provide relief from pains. For instance, some people use it to alleviate migraines, eye pressure, and other discomforts.
Despite all of its positive medical benefits, smoking Magnum can still cause potential adverse effects. Dry mouth and eyes are some of the common reactions that users might experience. It may also cause some to feel slightly dizzy.
Because Magnum is a predominantly Sativa strain, and a potent one at that, beginners may want to watch out for its potential to cause feelings of mild anxiety and paranoia. However, this is usually a result of excessive use and can easily be avoided by smoking in small amounts.
Autoflowering Magnum Seeds
With its slow-building buzz and its spicy, citrusy flavor, Magnum is a strain that can give both recreational and medical users alike a pure blast. Even breeders find it to be a joy to grow because of its resiliency and high yield. With autoflowering seeds, planting it any time of the year is now possible thanks to Homegrown Cannabis. There is no reason for one to say no to this amazingly, potent strain.
