Purple signifies nobility, power, and wealth. In some sense, these representations remain true in the Purps Mixpack. It is composed of Grand Daddy Purple, Purple Haze, and Purple Kush. These elite strains are known for their beautiful plum hue, potency, and high yield. Apart from these similarities, the royalties also have distinct effects and grow tendencies, ensuring a little bit of everything in one package.
Granddaddy Purple is a 70% Indica with up to 27% THC strength. Purple Urkle is the source of its grape and berry fragrance. Its enormous, dense bud structure, on the other hand, is from Big Bud. GDP sends the mind sailing in a sea of dreamy euphoria while the body is in an immovable state of relaxation. Accompanied by a lot of laughter, an increase in sexual desire may also arise.
The only Sativa in the mixpack is Purple Haze, a variant made famous by the 60s Jimi Hendrix classic. As what the song implies, the flower is psychedelic. It amplifies lights, sounds, and colors. Even the sense of bliss feels intense. Apart from the altered sensory experience, it boasts of a lip-biting berry taste and induces chattiness like its Purple Thai parent. Meanwhile, the legendary Haze passed along its high-energy, creative push, as well as its sweet earthiness.
Another excellent Purp for nighttime use is the pure Indica Purple Kush. It has Purple Afghani's mixed scent of grapes and cultivated soil, along with the slightly spicy kick of Hindu Kush. Although it starts mellow, the variant gives a robust relaxing body buzz and blissed-out head high that creep up mid-use. Moreover, it also induces a stronger than usual munchies.
If consuming cannabis for therapeutic purposes, the Purps trio will also come in handy. All three strains offer strong anxiolytic effects and pain relief. Hence, they can be used in various health conditions that range from stress, depression, and PTSD to migraines and different types of arthritis. Plus, Purple Haze is useful in shaking off the sluggishness brought about by fatigue. GDP and Purple Kush, on the other hand, restore good appetite and restful sleep.
Apart from their health-giving benefits and pleasant recreational effects, the Purps strains are also high-yielding and beginner-friendly. Hence, taking the time to cultivate their feminized seeds is no doubt going to be a fruitful yet less tricky undertaking. Furthermore, the Homegrown Cannabis Co plants are medium in size, so finding them a suitable spot is never difficult.
Growing Purps Mixpack
The strains of the Purps Mixpack were not only chosen because of their lovely plum color. To ensure grow room compatibility, which is vital in batch cultivation, critical factors like physical makeup and resilience were also considered. All three have an adult size of more or less 3 ft indoors and 6 to 6.5 ft outdoors. Moreover, they respond well to both Screen of Green (ScrOG) and Sea of Green (SOG) techniques in either super soil or hydroponic systems.
These Purps prefer dry, sunshiny weather but also do just fine in colder northerly temperatures. In fact, the plants earn their purple hues when exposed to around 15°C nighttime temperatures during the last two weeks of flowering. If outdoor conditions, however, are not optimal, grow the floras indoors where their habitat preference can be mimicked. The ideal temperatures range around 18 to 26°C. Ventilation and maintaining low humidity are also essential.
Grand Daddy Purple
Locations with unideal atmospheric conditions or those prone to sudden weather changes should grow GDP indoors. Its large, dense buds and bushy foliage may cause moisture buildup, which then attracts powdery mildew and bud rot. To avoid these concerns, humidity control and pruning away inessential or overgrown branches are crucial. The latter also helps in exposing lower bud sites to more sunlight, allowing them to become larger. Note, however, that the practice should be done during the vegetative cycle. Doing so gives the cannabis sufficient time to recover and grow big fan leaves.
Meanwhile, while flowering, feed GDP with products high in phosphorous to help produce dense buds. Adding bat guano and kelp also boost the plant's strength, so its branches can fully develop and carry massive colas without the risk of breakage. The Indica flowers for 9 to 11 weeks indoors, bearing up to 500 grams of garden-fresh buds per square meter. If grown outdoors, as much as 600 grams can be gathered from a single GDP. In the north of the equator, harvest starts by the middle of October.
Although Sativa-looking, Purple Haze is tinier than most Sativas. That being the case, it fits just fine in medium-sized grow tents, as well as rooms with limited canopy space. The cannabis is also highly resilient against common diseases. On top of that, it only requires pruning and topping to develop a bushy shape. As the colas mature, however, the most promising ones will need support or they could end up breaking the branches.
As with GDP, Purple Haze also needs loads of phosphorus during the flowering period to boost its bud production. The plant goes into a 9 to 10-week fruiting cycle and shares 500 grams of tapered, deep plum flowers per square meter of indoor space. In an open-air garden, on the other hand, one flora fruits around 400 grams. It can be collected by the first week or second week of October in the northern hemisphere.
The pure Indica Purple Kush is bushy, small, and has heavy branching. Due to its thick foliage and small intermodal gaps, moisture, too, is its main enemy. Trim away the portions that are not receiving enough sunlight to promote better air circulation and prevent bud rot from emerging. Doing so also encourages top canopy development.
To help Purple Kush achieve its full yield potential, feed it heavily throughout vegetation and fruiting. In a controlled environment, the monster feeder generates 400 to 500 grams per square meter and finishes flowering in as fast as 7 to 8 weeks. Meanwhile, cultivating in an outdoor garden yields as much as 600 grams per plant, which can be harvested by the last week of September.
Fragrance and Flavor
Berries are the fruits that come to mind when the color purple is mentioned. Incidentally, the Purps trio has a very berry-like fragrance and flavor. Grand Daddy Purple smells and tastes like sweet berry and grape, but also has a hint of piney sapor. Purple Haze and Purple Kush, on the other hand, both have an earthy yet saccharine berry aroma and sapidity with a spicy kick.
Battle daytime sluggishness and apathy with Purple Haze. Although not the bud to use during regular office hours due to its psychedelic effect, it is beneficial when engaged in artistic practice, whether for leisure or work. The bud gets the creative juices flowing. Suddenly, it is as if the blinders that prevent the imagination from working fell off.
Moreover, Purple Haze heightens sensory sensitivity, resulting in amplified sounds, images, colors, and emotions. It is like looking at life through a kaleidoscope; everything seems more colorful and captivating. Even better, the flower can also be enjoyed in light social settings as it induces chattiness.
Grand Daddy Purple and Purple Kush, on the other hand, are for nighttime unwinding. Both strains send the mind in a euphoric journey, so it can leave behind negative thoughts and emotions behind. At the same time, the buds blanket the body with a pleasurable, limb-melting relaxation. The physical sensation suppresses tensions and pains, so the holistic moment of calm cannot be disrupted until sleep comes. When enjoying these variants, have loads of nibbles nearby as extreme hunger are sure to occur.
Despite their similarities, the two strains have distinct differences, which allow consumers to choose the kind of high they want for the night. The effects of GDP kick in fast, and this includes the increase in sexual desire. If satisfying carnal needs is on the mental to-do list, take it easy on the dosage because this cannabis couch-locks. Purple Kush, on the other hand, allows movement, but it takes a great deal of will to escape the grips of laziness. Also note that this bud is a creeper, so enjoy the slow ride and do not think that taking in more will speed up the high.
The three Purps are all popular medicinal strains often pulled off the shelf to diminish chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, as well as nausea and vomiting. Apart from those mentioned, Purple Haze also combats fatigue while GDP and Purple Kush prevent sleepless nights caused by insomnia.
Bear in mind that the Purps must only be consumed in modest dosages to limit the side effects to mild dry mouth and eyes. To avoid more worrying adverse upshots like dizziness, increased anxiety, or paranoia, do not overindulge.
Mixed Purps Pack
The Purps Mixpack is three cannabis royalties in a single package. It is composed of Grand Daddy Purple, Purple Haze, and Purple Kush; all elite strains known for their beautiful plum hue, potency, and high yield.
Purple Haze, the only Sativa in the pack, is psychedelic. It offers an altered sensory experience, along with a creative push. Meanwhile, Granddaddy Purple and Purple Kush are excellent sources of nighttime relaxation and soaring cerebral flight. The Purps are also strong anxiolytics and potent pain-killers. Hence, they can be used in various health conditions that range from stress, depression, and PTSD to migraines and different types of arthritis.
Besides their pleasant recreational and health-giving benefits, the Purps are also high-yielding and uncomplicated to cultivate. Their feminized seeds from Homegrown Cannabis Co produce around 500 grams per square meter indoors and 600 grams per plant outdoors. Moreover, the plants are medium in size, so space is hardly going to be an issue

Extremely satisfied with all 3 strains! Germinated with no problems. The nose on all 3 are so dynamic in difference. Final weeks of flowers, so not sure how the experience is just yet. If I can, I’ll have an updated review in the future. Happy growing!
