Strain Description

Star Killer is known for its distinctive scent and taste, but it also ticks all the boxes when it comes to effects thanks to the relaxing yet soaring high it brings. It's a seriously heavy hitter that can sedate even hardened users after a toke or two. Needless to say, this weed is not meant for inexperienced or occasional users.

Growers can have a great time cultivating their own crop using feminized seeds from Homegrown Cannabis Co. Having an all-female squad means every plant can produce smokable nugs – and what beautiful nugs they are! They're highly resinous and have a gorgeous purple hue that sparkles in the light. Their stickiness is a sure sign of their potency.

A celebrated Indica hybrid, Star Killer is a cross of two Indica powerhouses. It's the proud offspring of Skywalker OG, a strain with which most marijuana users are familiar. Its other parent, Rare Dankness #2, is a highly coveted but very rare weed that adds an air of mystery and intrigue to the mix.

Stomping in with a whopping 26% to 29% THC level, this dope is one of the most potent ever introduced to the market. It's also won many awards over the years, which serves as a testament to its high quality and strength. One of its most recent accolades is the top prize in the hybrid category of the 2016 Cannabis Cup.

Growing Star Killer from Feminized Seeds

Star Killer is a very high yielding strain that is moderately difficult to cultivate. Experienced growers should have little trouble handling it, but beginners may struggle a bit. Luckily, it can thrive both in a controlled environment and outdoors, and so you can pick the method that suits you best.

At present, there's not much information available on the specifics of growing this strain. But here's what we do know: indoors, it flowers for 9 to 10 weeks, which is longer than most Indicas. The long wait is worth it, though, as it produces up 1.63 ounces of gluey buds per square foot when harvest time arrives. Note that the plant is sensitive to high pH and high temperatures, so growers should monitor it closely.

Like most strains, it prefers a Mediterranean climate if you're opting for al fresco growing. It's usually ready around mid-October, and each plant can produce around 21 ounces of buds.

Fragrance and Flavor

Star Killer has a fascinating scent that grabs the attention from the get-go. It positively reeks with strong notes of earth and citrus that seem to balance one another out. As the smoke lingers in the air, a sweet Kush nuance also becomes apparent.

When blazed, you'll taste the pine and earth flavors immediately, and a jolt of lemon and candy will soon follow. There's also a hint of spice upon exhaling which makes the smoke seem smoother.

Effects

Star Killer is an Indica-dominant strain that produces a hard-hitting ad potent high. With THC levels that go up to 29%, it demands to be taken seriously. The journey towards complete and utter tranquility begins with a gentle cerebral buzz that's uplifting and euphoric.

While you're relishing this state of complete bliss, the relaxation will kick in, almost without you even noticing. It's mild at first, starting at the back of the head and crawling down over every inch of the body. Before long you'll be groggy and couch-locked, and you'll not want to do much at all apart from lying on the sofa in an enjoyable daze.

The strain's sedating properties are plenty enough to put users into a deep sleep. Just one or two small bowls gives a long lasting experience that softens up the body while keeping the mind lucid. If just a tad more is taken, then sleep will likely come knocking within a matter of minutes. This mean puncher is definitely best reserved for after-work or pre-bedtime sessions.

Medical

Star Killer's strong sedative properties make it a popular choice for medicinal use. Its ability to put the body in a deep state of relaxation may be very beneficial to insomniacs and those suffering from fatigue through lack of sleep.

This strain is also said to be great for pain relief thanks to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It may also ease the symptoms of psychological concerns such as stress and depression, thanks to the euphoric head high it induces.

Because of its hard-hitting potency, Star Killer sometimes brings unwanted side effects. The most common of these are cottonmouth and dry eyes, which can usually be sorted out by remaining properly hydrated and using over-the-counter eye drops.

Star Killer's very high THC content can be quite tough to handle. Smokers who aren't used to its potency might encounter dizziness or slight paranoia. Some may even have increased levels of anxiety. For these reasons, beginners, vulnerable persons and THC-sensitive users are advised to stay away from it.

Harvest/Party time
Two of the four plants, that grew, turned out real good. The biggest put out and oz of buds and the other produced about 3/4 of a oz. The smoke is smooth, earthy, with a hint of mint. Good smoke! The stone is a head high, not stoned, and it has been going on for an hour so far. Anyways that s how long I've been trying to type this.

Hard to grow
Star Killer plants are the shortlist I've ever grown. They have been growing for two months and are only 6" tall but look healthy. The Gelatos are right next to them, and are about 1' tall and are real healthy. So I know it's not the soil. A friend and I split a 12 pack. I've lost two, for some reason and my friend lost three of his six. I know they are Indica but they are so short. I sure hope they take of and grow to a good bud producing size.

I have not yet germinated
I have not yet germinated the seeds yet. That will happen in a week or two. I am looking forward to growing them and smoking it.
